Hello Mark-Oliver,
>I thought there IS a program which patched MultiTOS to do all (even in the
>desktop!) dialogs in windows!
There is. I do not know how -well- it works with MultiTOS. I tried it
on my TOS 1.4 ST (just to see what would happen) and it worked quite
well. It crashed once or twice, but it was an old version. I'm sure
that a newer version (if there is one) would be more reliable. At
least one version is available at atari.archive.
My !)*&*(& monitor died yesterday, so I'm using a TV to type this. Why
do I mention this, you ask? (Other than in the hope of someone telling
me how it can be fixed, if possible, that is.) I think it would be nice
if the standard stated that "all output that goes in a window should
support SpeedoGDOS, or at least GDOS". Medium resolution SUCKS!!!
With GDOS, though, at least the font can be made bigger and replaced
with something more clear. There are also other advantages to being
able to replace a font. People with eyesight problems can use a
nice, relaxing font instead of the eye-strain-generator that the system
uses. I'm not talking about dialog-box-windows, though. That would not
be hard to implement, but it also would not be easy. Changing the
output font for v_gtext(), though, takes two lines of code. If you
do not want to write a font selector, try UFSL. If you do not want to
do that, there are other options.
